Koenigsegg One:1

Overview

The Koenigsegg One:1 has a special place in the car community. Not only it is made by one of the most exclusive and visionary car companies since the turn of the century, but it also managed to pull-off a feat previously unheard of and is still the only production car in the world that can make a "dream" or "ideal" equation practical.

The Koenigsegg One:1 has a hp-to-kerb weight ratio of 1:1 , i.e., it produces 1hp/kg of kerb weight of the car.
For example : The Mclaren P1 has power to weight ratio of 0.6.
Mind blown right!
The One:1 produces 1360 hp with the kerb weight of 1360 kg ( complete car ready with 50% fuel and 100% fluids ).

The One:1 is also the first homologated production car in the world to produce 1 megawatt of power, thereby making it the world's first "megacar".

Specifications

The One:1 is a mid-engine rear wheel drive beast of a car with a carbon fibre monocoque chassis that weighs just 72 kg. Power comes from a modified verison of the 5.0L twin-turbocharged V8 that is used in the Agera with 4 valves per cylinder and double overhead camshafts.

The mind blowing thing about the Koenigsegg engines is not only the fact that they are fully developed in-house rather than being outsourced, but they are also eco-friendly with flex-fuel capability. So, to sum it up, the One:1 is an eco-friendly twin-turbocharged V8 megacar. The flex-fuel capability of the koenigsegg's debuted in 2007 with the launch of the now legendary CCXR.
Bonker!!!

The engine produces maximum power output of 1 MW @ 7500 rpm and a maximum toque of 1371 Nm @ 6000 rpm. The rev limiter kicks-in at 8250 rpm.

The massive power produced by the twin-turbocharged V8 is sent to the rear wheels via a specially developed 7-speed dual clutch transmission, which is more than enough to make this car disappear in the blink of an eye. How fast you ask, well consider it that the One:1 reaches 400 kmph from nothing  faster than a Bugatti Chiron!. It takes the One:1 approx 20 seconds to reach 400 kmph while for the Chiron takes 32.6 seconds.

The acceleration times of the One:1 are :

  • 0-100 kmph ~ 2.8 seconds
  • 0-200 kmph ~ 6.6 seconds
  • 0-300 kmph ~ 11.92 seconds

With acceleration times that lightening fast and a theoretical top speed of around 273 mph or 439.351 kmph, the One:1 is one of the fastest production cars ever created by man. But, as we all know from our friendly neighbourhood spiderman's uncle ben,
With great power, comes great responsibility
So, the One:1 should also stop on par with the acceleration times. Well, the 6 piston ceramic disc brakes at front and 4 piston at the rear do not disappoint at all.
As per Koenigsegg, the One:1 can come to a complete hault from 400 kmph in approx. 10 seconds!
10 seconds!!!!!!!!. My car doesn't even accelerate to 100 kmph is 10 seconds and the One:1 comes to a complete hault from 400 kmph in that time frame.

Legacy

The One:1 has Guinness World Record for the 0-300-0 kmph which is mere 17.95 seconds, a full 3.2 seconds quicker than the previous record setter, another Koenigsegg, the Agera which put on the 0-300-0 kmph time of 21.19 seconds.

You can watch the full video of the One:1 setting the record in the video below

With only 7 examples ever created including one prototype, even if you had a spare $2.85 million lying around in your bank account or under your sofa, the One:1 is sold out and the only way to get one is if the previous owner is willing to sell it in the first place.

The Interior on the One:1

The One:1 is a breathtaking piece of  engineering, it is the first homologated production car in the world to have a power ratio of 1hp/1kg and also, it is the world's first megacar. It is truly in a league of its own.
