Koenigsegg Jesko Twins | World's Fastest Twins |
Koenigsegg and speed go hand in hand, from the iconic CCR that made the headlines everywhere when it reached a breathtaking top speed of 388 kmph or 241 mph at the Nardo Ring in Italy in 2005, beating the 8-year old record of McLaren F1 and putting Koenigsegg right into the hearts and minds of people all over the world to the Agera R that managed to attain a top speed of 418.4 kmph or 260 mph in 2011 to the phenomenal Agera RS, that was the fastest production car in the world with a top speed of 477.18 kmph or 277.87 mph and beating the 7-year old record set by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
When the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ managed to go beyond the 300 mph barrier and reach a breathtaking top speed of 490.41 kmph or 304.77 mph, the world just flipped over because it became the first production car in the world to break the 300 mph barrier.
In reply to the Chiron Supersport 300+, Koenigsegg unveiled not only one, but two cars, one which carries forward the mantle of the Agera RS and the other that has the capability to smash speed records and both of them been named after the company's founder, Christian Von Koenigsegg's father, Jesko Von Koenigsegg.
Meet the Koenigsegg Jesko twins, one built for extreme speed and the other built for ultimate track-performance while being totally street legal.
The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut and the Koenigsegg Jesko, the fastest and most extreme cars from Koenisgegg.
The Jesko, just like its predecessor the Agera line-up is an extremely precise track-focused car. At 250 kmph, the Jesko produces 800 kgs of downforce and the maximum downforce that it can produce is a mind-boggling 1400 kg. The Jesko has a curb weight of just 1420 kg and it produces a downforce of 1400 kg.
Mind officially blown!
The official top speed of the Jesko has not yet been revealed but just like the rest of the numbers that this beast can put out, the top speed will be in the very best and fastest production car territory.

But wait, here's more.
The Jesko also has a sister car, a car that will not only shatter the 300 mph barrier but will also be the company's fastest car ever-forever. Meet the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut.

Koenigsegg Jesko
The Koenigsegg Jesko is a new megacar that made its debut in the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. The Jesko is the next step in Koenigsegg's track-focused hypercar line-up.

The Jesko carries forward the mantle of the Agera RS and is powered by a re-designed version of the impressive engine that Koenigsegg developed in-house, a 5.0 L twin-turbocharged V8 that produces 1200 hp on standard gasoline and 1600 hp on E85 biofuel. The Jesko's engine also has the world's lightest V8 crankshaft, weighing in just 12.5 kg.
Debuting with the Jesko is also a new transmission unit developed in-house by Koenigsegg themselves, the LST, or Light Speed Transmission.

For all the nerds to there, the definition of LST by Koenigsegg is :
LST comprises nine forward gears and seven wet, multidisc clutches in a compact, ultra-light package. The LST is capable of upward and downward gear changes between gears at near light speed thanks to the simultaneous opening and closing of clutches that allows for totally seamless acceleration/deceleration.

The Jesko also has a sister car, a car that will not only shatter the 300 mph barrier but will also be the company's fastest car ever-forever. Meet the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut.
Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut
The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is not only the sister car to the Jesko, but will be the fastest car Koenigsegg will ever produce-like forever.

The Jesko Absolut, in simple terms, is a freak of a car. While the normal Jesko is a high downforce track-oriented weapon, the Jesko Absolut aims squarely at the 300 mph barrier. The Jesko Absolu will not just be the fastest homologated road-legal Koenigsegg of its time, in-fact the Jesko Absolut will be the fastest Koenigsegg road-going car ever-forever.
The Jesko Absolut is radically different from its sister car, the Jesko. The large rear wing has been removed to create less drag and two fighter jet-like strakes or fins have been installed in its place for high-speed stability. The car gets a long tail, i.e., the length of the car has been increased by 235 mm, the front splitter is also modified so as to reduce drag. The rear wheels are also dished so as to minimize drag, although the dish can be removed. All these extreme aero measures are taken so as to make the car as slippery as possible for it to achieve its intended purpose, break the 300 mph barrier.
While the Jesko produces a downforce of 800 kg at 250 kmph and a maximum downforce of 1400 kg, the Jesko Absolut produces a downforce of 40 kg at 250 kmph and a maximum downforce of 140 kg. High downforce is not required for cars that are built for straight-line speed.
With a drag coefficient as low as 0.278 and 1600 hp on tap and LST or Light Speed Transmission, the Jesko Absolut, theoretically can achieve impossible top speeds of 500+ kmph or 310+ mph. The official speed run is yet to happen but given the insane engineering that went into this car and passion of the people working at Koenigsegg, it doesn't seem impossible.
In case you got impressed by the spec sheet of the Jesko twins, it costs only $2.8 million each, excluding taxes.
