Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII | The Definition Of Opulence |

INTRODUCTION

There are normal cars like the Honda City or the Hyundai Verna, then there are luxury cars like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class or the BMW 5 Series, then there are ultra-luxury cars like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class or the Audi A8 and above them are flagship luxury models like the Maybach or the Bentley Mulsanne and above them comes Rolls-Royce. For more than a century, Rolls-Royce has continued to be the pinnacle of luxury not just on four wheels, but quite frankly, the benchmark standard for prestige and the Phantom, the flagship model of the Rolls-Royce is by-far the most luxurious machine that you can get on four wheels.

The Phantom has always been the flagship model of Rolls-Royce, their best and the latest iteration of the Phantom, the Phantom VIII is by far the most luxurious Rolls-Royce, let alone the most luxurious car to have been ever made.

Since the Phantom is a bespoke vehicle with endless customization options, no two Phantoms ever built are the same, each one being the reflection of the buyer's personality, identity.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The Phantom is a massive car and makes its presence known wherever it goes, with a total length of 5726 mm or 226.8 in, the base Phantom is longer than the BMW 7 Series extended wheelbase version by a whopping 557 mm and to top it all off, the Phantom is also available in an extended wheelbase version, in which the total length of the car is 5,982 mm. The Phantom is 2018 mm or 79.4 in wide and the curb weight is 2,560 kg.

Bonkers!!

Powering the Phantom is an equally massive engine, a 6.75 L twin-turbocharged V12 that produces 563 hp and 900 Nm of torque. Even with such massive weight and dimensions, the Phantom is a quick car, with a 0-100 kmph time of 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 250 kmph or 150 mph. But these numbers are of the secondary concern, the primary concern is the smoothness. This V12 is by far the smoothest engine ever built, with almost no vibrations and provides the Phantom with smooth stutter-free power delivery. The Phantom also comes with 4-wheel steering which allows the rear wheels to countersteer at almost 3° at low to medium speeds to make the Phantom more maneuverable.

EXTERIOR

The Phantom VIII is a true masterpiece, not just by the sheer numbers it puts but also the way it looks. The Phantom VIII is by far the most beautiful looking luxury sedan, let alone the most beautiful luxury car to be ever conceived. The bodylines, the massive pantheon grill, the suicide doors, self-centering wheel hubs ...., all add to create a design that not only pays homage to the previous generations of Phantoms but also oozes with elegance and prestige. It is a beautiful fusion of art and engineering.
